We love to worship through song at Emmaus and you are invited to come and join us! Whether it’s on one of the Sunday morning worship teams, as a singer in the Emmaus Choir, or as a pianist/keyboardist or instrumentalist, we’d love to have you consider sharing your gifts in worship. At Emmaus we think that music is a great way to both lead and serve the body in worship and a powerful way to grow deeper in our life of faith.
Worship team members are a group of vocalists and instrumentalists that lead our worship at Sunday morning services. Desired qualities include a heart for worship, a willingness to serve God by serving others, and strong musical ability. Instrumentalists (electric/acoustic guitar, keyboard, bass guitar, percussionists) are expected to learn parts from recordings and chord charts. Vocalists must be willing to harmonize by ear.
Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m. and call time is bright and early – 7:30 a.m. – on Sundays!
The Emmaus Chorale sings a blended body of music – from sacred classical works to more contemporary gospel pieces. Singers need not be practiced music readers, but willing to learn and enjoy the process! The Emmaus Choir sings in Sunday worship 4-5 times a year and anchors the annual Advent Vespers service.
The Emmaus Brass Ensemble plays in worship several times each a year. Its works include sacred classical, re-arranged hymns & contemporary worship accompaniment. Brass players must have the ability to read music.
