Children’s Church

2014 171Children’s Church happens every Sunday morning during  our 8:45am worship service (September 11, 2016 through May 2017)

Children participate in worship with their parents in the sanctuary until they are dismissed to go to Children’s Church prior to the sermon. (They return to the sanctuary before the benediction).

The format and philosophy of our time together comes from Young Children and Worship by Sonja Stewart and Jerome Berryman. It is a way for children ages 3-7 to experience God in a worship setting that follows the fourfold order of adult worship: Gathering, Listening, Thanking, and Going Out. This approach is much different than a traditional classroom setting where we typically tell children about God. In worship, we experience God together through storytelling and asking the question: “I wonder… ” It is truly worship where God is central!

Parents are always welcome to visit Children’s Church if they are interested in seeing what it is all about!
