Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to share your gifts at Emmaus. Here are just a sampling of the possibilities:

Sunday Morning Volunteers

  • Greeters: Greeters are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the service begins. They are stationed at the front doors and greet folks as they enter the building. When the weather is nice, greeters may greet outside the doors and when the weather is not so nice, greeters stand in the foyer. Please contact our office manager, April Schweickert emmaus@emmauschurch.org or call the church (507-645-9480) and leave a message if you are interested in serving in this way.
  • Ushers: Ushers are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the service begins. Ushers are stationed at the doors to the sanctuary and hand out bulletins to folks as they enter the sanctuary. Ushers are asked to help people find available seats, to help take the offering and to straighten up the sanctuary after a service. If it is a communion Sunday (first Sunday of each month), ushers will also be asked to serve communion. Please contact our office manager, April Schweickertemmaus@emmauschurch.org or call the church (507-645-9480) and leave a message if you are interested in serving in this way.
  • Communion Servers: Communion servers are needed for our Sunday morning worship services on the first Sunday of each month. Communion servers are asked to connect with our office manager (April) 15 minutes before the service begins for instructions on how to serve communion. Communion is served near the end of the service and is done in pairs. Please contact April Schweickert via email emmaus@emmauschurch.org or (507-645-9480).
  • Sound/Audio Visual Technicians: Technicians to help with sound and audio/visual needs are asked to arrive about 7:45 a.m. and they stay for both services. Please contact our Director of Worship, Rob Ryden rryden@emmauschurch.org or call the church (507-645-9480) and leave him a message.
