Pastoral Care and Counseling

The pastoral staff at and people of Emmaus offer several kinds of care to members of our congregation and community:

Read below for some specifics in each area. Please do contact the church office if you are interested in receiving care or counseling or would like more information about any of the care services we offer.

Prayer Ministry and Support

There are numerous opportunities to either receive or participate in prayer. Follow this link for more details.

Stephen Ministry

Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2, NRSV)

Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in local congregations: people caring for people. See more at Emmaus’s Stephen Ministry page.

Meals Ministry

To support some special occasions (such as after the birth of a new baby, or after recent hospitalization or illness or the death of an immediate family member) Emmaus arranges for a few home-cooked meals to be provided. To notify the church of a need, contact the church office (507-645-9480) or Christie Balster (651-271-2383).

Pastoral Care Visits

Prayer and pastoral care is readily available through Emmaus staff who would be privileged to companion you through whatever situation presents itself.

Pastoral Counseling

Counseling – by Emmaus staff –  is available by appointment, concerning faith and life challenges and issues. Contact the church office (507-645-9480) to make an appointment.

Referrals for professional counseling are available upon request.

Prepare-Enrich Premarital Counseling

For those couples in the happy time of anticipating a marriage, premarital counseling is a gift offered by Emmaus staff. Call Susan Quinnell (507-645-9480) for more information.
